Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, spoke on the telephone with his Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi about bilateral relations and regional matters, including Syria.
The two discussed how strengthening various aspects such as trade, energy, and cultural exchanges can develop Pakistan-Iran relations. They emphasized their commitment to furthering bilateral cooperation in finding mutual challenges and taking joint opportunities.

Substantial attention was also paid to the changing situation in Syria. Both sides shared their views on the need for coordinated efforts in order to establish stability and peace in the region. They also talked about the need for dialogue and diplomacy in resolving conflicts and humanitarian concerns.
Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to deepen engagements with Iran because of the close historical, cultural, and religious ties between the two countries, he also stressed that Pakistan is ready to work closely with Iran on regional and international platforms to promote common best interests.
The two ministers decided to further strengthen engagements for high-level advances in the bilateral agenda and for identifying new areas of collaboration.
