The country of Pakistan has put forward a formula to the International Cricket Council (ICC)- for its matches against India to be played in a neutral venue whenever BCCI organizes any tournament.
Mohsin Naqvi, the current PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) chairman is in Dubai trying to settle the dispute regarding the Champions Trophy which arose because of India’s refusal to play in Pakistan.
Sources say that under the proposed formula the matches between India and Pakistan for the Champions Trophy would take place in Dubai. Similarly, the matches by Pakistan in any future ICC tournaments held and conducted by India would also take place at neutral venues.
For three years, the arrangement will stand.
It is not called a hybrid model, but it will not have some other name.

There is an expected meeting today 7 August 2011 in ICC about the Champions Trophy, and then there will be a discussion regarding the deadlock. If India agrees to it, then wouldn’t be even needed for voting up to it.
In a surprising turn of events, he, being the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), took up the ICC chairman role on December 1, just after the Greg Barclay term ended on November 30. He was unopposed in August as well.
On Saturday, PCB chief Naqvi said, “What is best for Pakistan will be pursued,” saying that such formulas would set a precedent for future tournaments and match each other.
Pakistan also formally told the ICC that it rejects this hybrid model for the Champions Trophy.
