The Pakistan weightlifting team has begun preparations for the Far East Cup, set between November 29 and December 3 in Russia. The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) now issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the national team, which includes Haider Sultan, Junaid Ahmed, Danial Aftab, Haider Shakeeb, Hanzla Dastagir, and Alisha Mushtaq.
They are accompanied by officials like team head M Shahid, head coach Zubair Yousuf, and coaches Sajjad Amin and M Irfan. The PSB, however, requested the weightlifting federation to submit a post-event visit report as the federation is currently facing an ongoing feud with the PSB.

Earlier, the PSB decided to suspend the PWF after the 25th meeting held on July 6, 2022, based on findings from a delegate of the Lahore High Court. Further, the PSB directed all Provincial Sports Boards and related government departments to completely cut off any cooperation with PWF.
This is an opportunity for the Pakistan weightlifting team to give more glory to the country.
