Pakistan has introduced a new modern technology suicide drone that is capable of operating up to the height of six thousand feet. It can safely and effectively engage and destroy enemy assets, such as tanks, helicopters, and structures with 60mm and 81mm bombs, respectively. The drone was officially presented during the IDEAS 2024 firearms exhibition at the Expo Center in Karachi, which was organized by the Pakistan Ordnance Factories, (POF).
According to Salman Ali Khan, Manager, Weapon Design POF, this is the first time Pakistan has developed a suicide drone it has also made improvements on past works that have involved surveillance and combat drones. The recently developed layout features thermal cameras and hybrid batteries. Such progress allows the drone to remain airborne for 4-5 hours, unlike the older models that only managed to fly for 30-40 minutes. The camera on the drone has infrared capabilities, which means it can focus on the heat generated by enemy troops, vehicles, or infrastructure, even during the night.

It is capable of level flight for a distance of 8 kilometers, and this enables it to hit targets with extreme accuracy. A suicide drone can neutralize a high-value target with little expense. As Khan explained, such assets that cost millions, such as tanks or helicopters, can be destroyed using this high-tech robot. The ways in which this particular drone can be utilized include carrying out intelligence operations, conducting strikes, and carrying out kamikaze attacks, which helps consolidate its utility in Pakistan’s defense systems.
Conclusion: The sophisticated suicide drone introduced is an important turning point in enhancing Pakistan’s defense. It is efficient in terms of cost and easy to use, which makes it very beneficial to the military.
