The Player Draft for the 10th Edition of HBL Pakistan Super League, to be held in Gwadar, the port city in Balochistan, was announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Friday. The date is now set for January 11, 2025, although the specific time is still to be announced. The selection of Gwadar as the venue aims to promote cricket in the region and to inspire youngsters to take it up professionally.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said, “Gwadar is blessed with a fantastic coastline and has great strategic importance, which symbolizes the future economic vision of Pakistan.” “The PSL Player Draft in Gwadar will not only highlight the cultural and economic importance of the region but also strengthen the unity that cricket brings to the nation,” said Naqvi. Naqvi also revealed his excitement to welcome all franchises and stakeholders to Gwadar in advance of the largest sporting event in Pakistan for its 10th edition.

HBL PSL Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Salman Naseer also stated pride in having Gwadar as the venue for the Player Draft, adding that it is a clear reflection of the league’s vision to reach out to most corners of Pakistan and show the real beauty of the country to the outside world. Naseer further mentioned that HBL PSL is not just a cricket league; it is actually a gala of the country’s talent, diversity, and passion. With this Player Draft, they hope to inspire young cricketers in Balochistan and outside to chase their dreams.
The PCB also confirmed that the relegation process and player retention details would be announced by the end of December.
