The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has granted protective bail to ex-first lady Bushra Bibi up to January 14, allowing her to be free. This, however, resulted from an argument made by her lawyer regarding the possible arrest of the accused due to several cases lodged in various cities. The bench comprising Justices Sahibzada Asadullah and Waqar Ahmad presided over the petition hearing and after deliberation, approved her bail.

This arrest legal development came in the wake of a court order from an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), which issued warrants of arrest against Bushra Bibi in a case now being processed at the Ramna Police Station. ATC judge Tahir Abbas Sipra had declared the application by the police for an arrest warrant as they wanted to take her into custody for their investigation into anti-terrorism charges.
