Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will deliberate on the salary increment for employees today (Friday) during the HR Committee meeting in Karachi.
In case of approval, the proposal would be sent to the Board of Directors. According to a national daily, the PIA employees haven’t had an increment since 2015.
Meanwhile, privatization efforts are stalled for the loss-making airline after one bid of Rs. 10 billion was rejected.

Privatisation Minister Aleem Khan now blamed the Federal Board of Revenue for having caused the failure of the jet fell short owing to not henceforth waiving the GST on the purchase of new aircraft.
The airline’s privatization process is underway from November 2023 onwards, accounting for losses at Rs. 830 billion. Public Cabinet review now awaits the case.
