PIA to add new Planes in 2025

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) intends to strengthen its fleet by buying eight more aircraft in the next year, according to its Chief Executive Officer.

The announcement was made during a session of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Aviation at Islamabad International Airport on Monday, as per an official press release, chaired by MNA Nawabzada Iftikhar Ahmed Khan Babar.

PIA CEO Khurram Mushtaq said that these will include the long-haul wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft. He said that the airline’s flight operations to Europe, suspended four years ago, would be resumed on January 10 with a direct flight to Paris. Initially, PIA would operate two weekly flights on this route.

Further, the CEO noted that there already exists an agreement with Air France that would increase the link for passengers traveling to other destinations across Europe.

He promised the committee’s members who were worried about in-flight meal quality that large-scale improvement had already taken place.

He said that from Wednesday, there would be daily flights from Karachi to Sukkur. The rise of motorways has brought about a reduction in domestic travel demand, he noted.
