Pakistan plans to recommence flight operations to the UK by early 2025, which will be confirmed with Nadir Shafi Dar, Director-General of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA), who disclosed that afterward, the British aviation delegation would probably be in the country for a crucial site visit in January 2025 as part of the last meeting online to be held in December 2024.

According to Dar, these officials are set to arrive during the third week of January 2025 to conduct a site visit on Pakistani grounds. He seemed confident that operational clearance would follow soon after this visit: “The DFT officials and Civil Aviation Authority UK will visit in the third week of January 2025”. The visit evaluation is aligned with the criteria of the recent assessment by the European Union assessing fairly positively. These positive results have lent strength to the case of Pakistan for reinstating operations to the UK in the next few months.
Before the suspension, PIA operated 21 flights weekly to the UK-10 to London, 9 to Manchester, and 2 to Birmingham. It is now awaiting the influx of revenue resulting from the re-establishment of services to Europe and the UK. The flights will also enhance the feasibility of traveling to the UK and Europe for passengers from Pakistan.
