On November 19, 2024, a fire broke out at the PIBT Terminal while discharging a cargo of coal, causing significant damage to a portion of the terminal infrastructure. This incident temporarily affected PIBTL’s ability to efficiently discharge cargo for its customers.

Resumption of Operations
In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on December 16, 2024, PIBTL confirmed that operations have returned to their customary form and speed. The company had made alternate arrangements to manage cargo discharge during the downtime.
