PKR Falls for 4th Consecutive Day

After opening trade at 278 in the interbank market, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) against the US Dollar (USD) closed today red for the 4th consecutive day.

The day remained bearish, and the close turned red despite staying at yesterday’s level against the USD. Meanwhile, it posted losses against most of the other major currencies in today’s session.

The interbank rate 9 remained pegged at 278/$ for most of the day, closing at the 277 level. Open market rates among several currency counters remained pegged at the level of 278-281 today.

The PKR made a close at 278.05 after losing merely half a paisa against the US Dollar today.
In the preliminary tests in the fiscal year up to date, the rupee has appreciated around 0.11 percent.
The PKR closed at red against most of the other major currencies in the interbank today.
It gained one paisa against the Saudi Riyal (SAR) while remaining converted against the UAE Dirham (AED).
Meanwhile, it suffered a loss of 44 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD).
It also incurred losses worth Rs. 1.17 against the Euro (EUR) and Rs. 1.75 against the British Pound (GBP).

The rupee lost 96 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD) at the close of today in the interbank currency market.
