In a directive that was given out during a meeting held in Islamabad to review projects currently running under the auspices of the Board of Investment, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for the early completion of business facilitation centers in every part of Pakistan.
The meeting showed that 200 B2B agreements had been accomplished with Chinese companies and there are also $70 million worth of MoUs signed. The prime minister said that reforms would be necessary to regulate this business-friendly environment and there should be a proper roadmap for the implementation of signed MoUs and B2B agreements with international investors.

Foreign investments are very important; therefore, the PM stressed the significance of Business Facilitation Centers, road shows, and other initiatives. The meeting also covered other areas where progress has been made regarding the 35 Special Economic Zones (SEZs) surveyed through the Geographical Information System, along with an 18-point plan drafted to enhance their effectiveness.
Presenting proposals on the Ease of Doing Business Act 2024 that will develop the regulatory framework governing business in response to the demands of change was also on the agenda. The meeting was also attended by Federal Minister for Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan and senior officers of relevant institutions.
He would need to clarify that the Business Facilitation Centers would fulfill that role in terms of availability, and would be crucial towards attracting foreign investors offering quick one-window style services to all business issues.
