Wednesday witnessed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif holding a supercritical federal cabinet session urging that violent politics would no longer be an option for Pakistan. He further accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of resorting to violence in its protests regarding the need for the country to move on from destructive political tactics.
They allegedly even represent the PTI’s top leadership, threatening democratic values and challenging their motives, implying that something is bothering them regarding Pakistan’s economic recovery. The government has worked hard for the last 16 months to bring the economy on the right path. Now, even the toughest economic critics agree that the economy is moving positively, the Prime Minister stated. He further teased, Is it for PTI that all these achievements should be made to waste?

This was commended through PTI’s aggressive methods, including the peaceful protests done in the past by PML-N, PPP, and JUI-F. Criticism was also made by the Prime Minister about some recently made statements by Bushra Bibi relating to Saudi Arabia, which were considered anti-state and unacceptable.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the efforts of the Islamabad police, Rangers, and all the other security forces and appreciated their duties in providing peace. He commended the work of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar for their leadership during the violence.
