The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, conducted a bilateral meeting with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, along the sidelines of the One Water Summit, in Riyadh. The Prime Minister extended hearty congratulations to President Macron on the successful co-hosting of this summit, while also crediting France for its strong leadership in the area of climate change and development issues. He further commended President Macron for his strong advocacy for Pakistan following the disastrous floods that hit the country in 2022.

The two leaders agreed to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and France for more business-to-business contacts in agriculture, livestock, IT, skills jobs, and clean drinking water. They noted the positive trajectory the relationship was following and discussed the full spectrum of political, economic, trade, and investment ties, as well as cooperation at multilateral forums such as the United Nations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed the need for strengthening mutually beneficial economic and trade ties and invited France to invest in Pakistan, especially in climate adaptation and renewable energy. He also stated that both leaders would continue to be closely in touch on all regional and global matters of mutual interest.
