PMD Forecasts Cold and Dry Weather Across Pakistan

Most of the areas in Pakistan will have a cold and dry lifestyle in the next 24 hours, according to PMD forecasts. Hilly regions may experience colder-than-usual temperatures, coupled with the very cold weather that would stay in place.

Generally, PMD attributed the current weather conditions to the predominance of continental air over much of the country. A shallow westerly wave is impacting both the western and upper parts of the country.

Some areas may experience foggy conditions mixed with moderate to light fog patches, affecting Northeast and South Punjab as well as parts of Upper Sindh in the morning hours reducing visibility.

Most parts of the country had cold, dry weather with very cold and partly cloudy conditions in hilly areas over the past 24 hours. Shallow fog patches were also reported from central and southern Punjab.

On Sunday, the harshest cool temperatures reported in the country were in the northern regions, where Leh, Skardu, and Astore fell to a very low temperature of minus 11 degrees Celsius, making them the lowest places in the country.

Residents of the affected areas must take preventive measures against cold weather and decreased visibility due to fog.
