The gala, held at Warsaw’s Grand Theatre, marks the beginning of Poland’s six-month tenure leading the EU’s rotating presidency. Polish Deputy Minister for European Affairs Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka stated that the Hungarian ambassador was not welcome, reflecting the ongoing diplomatic rift.
This move underscores the growing strain in relations between Poland and Hungary, countries that have historically been allies but have faced geopolitical challenges recently.
