Poland’s Ambassador in Islamabad, Maciej Pisarski, has said that countries are keen on working with Pakistan on global conflict prevention and resolution after congratulating the country on its election to the UN Security Council for 2025-2026. In a presser, he spoke on the importance of Pakistan’s role in bringing about continued peace and security through participation in UN peacekeeping missions.
On the strong Pak-Poland tie, Pisarski said both countries enjoyed friendly and productive cooperation for 62 years. He cited the evacuation of Pakistani students from Ukraine in 2022, and the event in Kabul in August 2021, as great tests that have bonded the two countries.
Ambassador Pisarski elaborated on the great strides the two countries have achieved in economics; from bilateral trade of €456.74 million in 2018, it has grown to €861 million in 2023 kinds of things. He urged further strengthening of this cooperation and the need to look into novel areas of cooperation with more initiatives like the Polish GreenEvo mission that brings in innovative green technology solutions to Pakistan.

He also praised the Polish Oil and Gas Company (POGC)/Orlen Group for its success in Pakistan and the establishment of major gas discovery investments, stressing what was paid for the gas delivered if that will continue to be the standard for performance.
While there have been some advances, the ambassador said he was not satisfied because bilateral trade was not translating into higher volumes. He encouraged a better utilization of the market potential in Pakistan.
Pisarski condemned Russian aggression against Ukraine and North Korea’s involvement in the conflict internationally, underlining that such acts have destabilizing effects on the overall global security. He mentioned that Poland is also committed to rendering support to Palestine with significant financial assistance toward humanitarian needs.
As for the upcoming presidency of the Council of the European Union, which Poland will assume in 2025, Pisarski emphasized that the focus will be on building a safe and resilient Europe. He then proceeded to highlight defense and security, border protection, and the fight against foreign interference and disinformation as key areas of focus.
