President Asif Ali Zardari has invited China to extend its footprints and investments in every area of Pakistan’s economy, reiterating the two countries’ capacity for stronger economic and commercial relations. In a meeting with the Chinese business delegation headed by the Consul General in Karachi, Yang Yundong, President Zardari emphasized the value of all deepening economic cooperation between the two countries. He said such investments from China would not only enhance trade between the two countries but also contribute to enhancing the economic growth of Pakistan as a whole.
The Chinese group indicated strong interest in pumping in one billion dollars to set up a medical city in Pakistan, part of its program to uplift the country’s healthcare infrastructure. In particular, they also spoke of interest in different sectors such as agriculture, livestock, energy, transport, and manufacturing.

According to President Zardari, Pakistan and China shared mutual interests and enjoyed long-lasting friendship and cooperation. He reiterated his belief in developing Gwadar Port as a regional trade hub and advocate that it will further enhance trade growth by improving connectivity.
The President welcomed Chinese investors in Pakistan and reiterated that it would extend every possible support to them. It’s a new stride toward strengthening people-to-people and cultural ties between the two countries, according to him, with the implementation of Chinese language courses in Sindh.
Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, and provincial ministers were also present in the meeting, which would further develop the bond between the two nations for closer economic and cultural ties.
