Signing an MoU to advance capacity-building and data exchange is a significant step for the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi as it embodies the commitment to further the financial education and research of markets in Pakistan.
At the event held at IBA Karachi Main Campus, the agreement was signed in the presence of Farrukh H. Sabzwari, Managing Director & CEO, PSX, and Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director, IBA Karachi. Under this agreement, IBA Karachi should be granted full access to all market information and products available in PSX, enhancing its capacity for market data research and analytics. The initiative will substantiate high-standard academic excellence and create avenues for students and faculty to have first-hand experience with tools/resources intended to illustrate real markets of capital in Pakistan.

In exchange, IBA Karachi will also extend all special capacity-building programs to the employees of PSX to enhance their professional skills and knowledge on the main topics of changes in the financial landscape. Emphasizing a shared vision, Farrukh H. Sabzwari said that this is for creating continuous education mechanisms surrounding financial literacy and improving the market research capabilities of IBA for IBA students and employees of PSX.
Brought to a close by Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, the partnership between IBA and PSX will realize the students’ dream of gaining exposure to the world’s best market practices. This initiative is set to facilitate the financing of research on innovation, development, and technical development within the finance industry in Pakistan. Through professional development, changes have been made to the standards of practice.
