Islamabad police confirmed on Friday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat is facing charges in 15 cases registered in the federal capital.
This emerged during the hearing of a plea by Marwat seeking information regarding the cases against him in the Islamabad High Court.
At the hearing, Marwat cited how he was prevented by police from arresting him as he was present at the hearing despite a previous order from the court. DSP Legal Sajid Cheema assured the court that the report to the court contains all FIRs against the person.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir asked the DSP how many sealed FIRs were noted in the report and ordered him to submit copies of these sealed FIRs for further scrutiny.
Justice Arbab remarked to Marwat: “These are the same injustices that occur today that occurred when your party was ruling the country.”
Marwat further pointed out that Punjab Police have not yet presented reports. In turn, the court issued notices to the Punjab Inspector General of Police.
It is worth mentioning that last Friday, the Islamabad High Court directed the Ministry of Interior and other parties concerned to furnish a detailed report about the cases instituted against Sher Afzal Marwat, directing that it be submitted on December 6 (today).
