The Punjab Apex Committee on Tuesday expressed contentment with the law and order conditions overall in the province.
Chairing the meeting was Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Hanging around her were senior civil and military officials and the meeting was convened with the concerns of public safety and security issues being among those on the agenda.

The committee also approved a very detailed security plan for the forthcoming Champions Trophy, whereby all participating players would be protected at a VVIP level. The security protocols to be followed for the Chinese expatriates in Punjab have also been reviewed through a reporting mechanism. The chief minister also directed the authorities to take more strict measures to enhance their safety.
The performance of the District Coordination Committees was judged and additional activities for become more effective.
In the briefings, officials presented traffic violations as rising across the province but more in Lahore. Immediate action was taken to address the committee’s recommendations.
