The Punjab Education Department has recently submitted a re-evaluated list of 2,226 teacher vacancies regarding direct recruitment across the province in the provincial government. This aims to provide solutions regarding inadequate educators in schools that work under the jurisdiction of its departments.
The Director of Administration for the Directorate of Public Instruction (SE), Lahore, informed the School Education Department of this revised list of vacant posts in a formal communication.
This revision gave importance to the latest requirement for staffing in schools all over Punjab. It has subdivided the vacancies into specific categories: it included 225 slots for headmasters (Grade 17), while there were 302 for headmistresses.

The letter urged the government to consider the revised list and process for recruitment without any delay. The activity forms part of the efforts the department has put forth to ensure that education quality is enhanced through plenty of teaching staff in public schools.
This has been taken as a significant step by the Education Department relating to any future prospect of addressing teacher shortage within Punjab, which continues to harm the learning environment and the educational outcomes at large.
