In an effort to eradicate air pollution and create job opportunities for the unemployed, the Punjab government has put forth yet another scheme.
The plan, which includes an e-taxi service through which online taxi drivers get electric vehicles at discounted rates, will benefit the entire country by reducing pollution and providing profits to drivers.
Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan shared the details and added that a large number of online taxis would be converted to electric vehicles. These electric vehicles will be available to the drivers through down payments and easy installment plans so that they can easily participate in it.

The Minister asserted that the conversion to electric taxis would not only lessen harmful emissions but would also be economical for the driver. According to studies, the driver can save 40% on fuel costs if he moves to electric vehicles.
This program has been established to counter the growing demand for online taxi services in Punjab and rising pollution in cities, especially Lahore.
Electric taxis will lead to multiple benefits such as a better-polluted environment, reduced fuel costs, and economic gains for the drivers as well. Besides, many job opportunities will likely be opened through this scheme for the unemployed today.
