Punjab Police Officer Killed in Targeted Attack

A shooting incident in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, claimed–as per reports from ARY News–the lives of three individuals, including a Punjab police officer.

Among the deceased were Sub-Inspector Qadeer Khan, hailing from Faisalabad, and a father-son duo. This group was said to be in Lakki Marwat on holiday when unidentified assailants fired upon them.

The reason behind the attack is still unknown, and a probe is being conducted to find and arrest the culprits. This tragic incident follows two separate such explosions in the Bajaur merged district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, wherein two people were also reported dead, including a policeman.

In recent times, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has alarmingly seen an increase in violent incidents.

Moreover, on November 20, a self-detonation explosion inside a security check post at Bannu was reported to have killed about twelve security officials. The attack, which was attributed to the Khwarij group, consisted of an explosive-laden vehicle running into the post’s perimeter wall, causing significant damage and casualties.
