The Washington Post report claims that India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) has had hands in a spate of targeted killings within Pakistan. It says RAW runs a clandestine program of assassinations that have resulted in several casualties in Pakistan since 2021.

The report further reads that these murders were conducted by petty criminals by Pakistanis or hired shooters from Afghanistan with the assistance of intermediaries based in Dubai. The payments were made through informal banking channels like hawala, with some notable incidents including the assassination of Amir Sarfaraz aka “Tamba” in Lahore in April 2023.
According to the report, the tactics, used by RAW against dissidents in the West, were originally created and perfected in Pakistan, only to be exported to other countries. Concerned over these operations, Pakistani officials demanded an independent probe into the claims.
