Saudi Arabia’s national carrier, Saudia, has announced an initiative to upscale the number of Pakistani tourists and anticipates hosting 3.5 million Pakistani tourists each year by 2030. This is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 program that focuses on diversifying its economy through the enhancement of tourism.
Saudia has had a connection with Pakistan ever since the first flight from Saudi Arabia landed in Karachi in 1970. The airline continues running several flights weekly, connecting the principal cities in Pakistan including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, and Sialkot.
The addition of 105 planes to its fleet is part of Saudia’s strategy for ambitious tourism gains. It will launch an AI-enabled Travel Companion platform. The tool, currently in beta, will help users in booking accommodation, transport, and activities through verified service providers.

It has further energized its AlFursan loyalty program by adding features such as miles tracker, reward management, and membership upgrade options. These actions are part of the digital transformation strategy of Saudia for an enhanced customer experience now and in the future.
Pakistan will be a very important market for religious pilgrimage in the United Arabian Kingdom, leisure tourism, and business travel which is a general target for the Kingdom to receive 330 million tourists annually at the end of the decade.
