A meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Maulana Fazlur Rehman, chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), proved quite fruitful when the former discussed the registration of religious seminaries. The meeting produced progress in Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s key proposals regarding the registration process.
The Prime Minister pointed out that there was an urgent need to attend to this issue, promising to deal with all matters according to the constitution and law. He stated, “The Ministry of Law will ensure that this issue is addressed in line with constitutional and legal provisions.”

Noteworthy attendees include: Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, National Assembly Member; Senator Kamran Murtaza; National Assembly Member Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, and Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Leader Qamar Zaman Kaira. Also present were Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Prime Minister’s advisor on political affairs Rana Sanaullah, and Attorney General Mansoor Usman.
The meeting showed commitment from the side of the government that these issues are settled concerning religious institutions fairly and lawfully.
