In line with this, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed that all federal ministers should ensure that they participate regularly in the proceedings of parliament henceforth since internecine absences were not healthy. In a release to all ministers, PM Shehbaz pointed out that by being absent from Parliament, these members undermine accountability and transparency, which in turn makes the public lose faith in democratic institutions.

He further condemned the delegating of constitutional responsibilities to underlings as a very high-handed method of avoiding governance. The Prime Minister also wishes to urge ministers to reschedule their workloads to enable them to participate in parliamentary sessions and maintain their chambers for official engagements.
He himself made strict prohibitions against visitations to other forums while doing the question hour and during parliamentary debates as there are expected duties he should, as a Minister fulfill to the legislature.
