The Sindh government on Tuesday imposed a complete ban on the display of firearms in public across the province under section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. However, there is an exemption for security personnel on duty.
This has been announced by the Additional Chief Secretary Sindh, Muhammad Iqbal Memon, in a notification imposing the ban for a period of three months, meaning that it will only be Law Enforcement Agencies that are allowed to carry firearms in public.

In addition, the order has made it clear that the employees under any security company can carry arms while on duty, and who publicly display firearms, leading to dread or fear among citizens, would attract legal consequences.
This measure would maintain order and law in the entire province reducing the sense of the public being unsafe and insecure.
