Captured the entire Tel Rifaat center on Sunday by the Syrian National Army in its Operation Dawn of Freedom against the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, continuing to advance in the outskirts.
Enter SNA troops, battling the terrorists who made a position in Tel Rifaat on the northwestern, northeastern, eastern, and southern front lines of the district, from Deir Jamal in the west of Tel Rifaat, and clear the district center of terrorists.
SNA troops who liberated the Hirbil village in the east of Tel Rifaat continue to advance in the outskirts of the district.
Located 18 kilometers (11 miles) from the Turkish border, Tel Rifaat had been under the domination of PKK/YPG terrorists for 8 years.
Operation Dawn of Freedom
Because of the plan laid by PKK/YPG to create a corridor of terror from Tel Rifaat to northeast Syria, the SNA initiated Operation Dawn of Freedom.

This prompted them to seek help from the PKK/YPG, who in turn grabbed swathes of territory.
The Syrian regime started returning the areas to the east of the Euphrates to the PKK/YPG.
Thus many PKK/YPG terrorists moved from the area to Aleppo, and those heavy weapons belonging to the group were stationed there.
This made the entry of the SNA into the field and launching of Operation Dawn of Freedom against the PKK/YPG plan of establishing a terrorist corridor between Tel Rifaat and northeastern Syria.
