That said, on Tuesday evening, the South Korean parliament voted to urge President Yoon Suk Yeol to repeal the emergency martial law report Yonhap said.
Under the Constitution, the Parliament must rescind martial law if a majority in the Parliament votes to do so.
Out of 300 members of Parliament, 190 were present and here they all voted in favor of a motion demanding martial law lifted.
