UN Increases Humanitarian Efforts in Syria Amid Escalating Challenges

Citing reports from the agency’s local correspondents, the UN committed to staying in Syrian areas under conflict zones, despite rising pressures, to increase its humanitarian efforts in war-torn Syria. As of Monday, it became clear according to local sources that the will of the United Nations was hoping to stay and deliver critical life-saving assistance to the affected populations in the war-ravaged country.

Just a day earlier, the United Nations bashed speculation about emptying all staff from Syria. “The United Nations remains steadfast in its commitment to stay and deliver life-saving assistance to the people of Syria during this critical time,” an official statement read.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres unconditionally pledged his support to Damascus after UN top officials issued special instructions regarding the necessary measures for peace and stability in the country. A 14-year brutal war and the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime have set a historic opportunity for the people of Syria to build a stable and peaceful future, he has emphasized.

Overnight, opposition forces are reported to have defeated all remaining fighters and taken President Bashar Al-Assad’s state television off the air, according to Damascus sources. “The future of Syrians is for the Syrian people to determine,” the UN chief emphasized, underlining that there would be no imposition of decisions from the outside.

As a result, they have displaced 370,000 people inside Syria, and many have fled to the northeast, while others remain trapped in front-line areas. Adam Abdelmoula, the United Nations resident humanitarian coordinator for Syria, noted the need for coordinated humanitarian operations to address increasing civilian casualties and emergency relief.

Saturday, July 03, 2011, marked and marked an even bigger demonstration than by now in Syria, with estimates of more than 2,000 people. Al-Quaboun shows a growing settlement of Syrian activists against the Assad regime, while in the north, Binnish has seen its first successful protest.

His rule of Bashar Al-Assad has been chaos. Opposition forces have ever since consistently demanded for his resignation or a regime change. His rule was also a contentious issue among the regional countries, Western powers and Russia.
