US Military Launches Airstrikes on Houthi Held Sanaa

The US military conducted aerial attacks against the Houthi-controlled capital of Yemen, Sanaa, in an operation on Saturday night that targeted a missile depot located in the Attan region. Al-Masirah TV, the Houthi’s state broadcaster, reported the strike but was silent on how many were killed or injured. Residents said that the bombing was directed at a missile depot located in Attan Mountain, an area within a military site held by Houthis in southern Sanaa. A massive explosion was heard across the city afterward.

The US Central Command said these airstrikes were genuinely a precise airstrike toward the missile storage facility and a command-and-control center operated by Houthis in the Attan area of Yemen. At this time, multiple Houthi drones and one anti-ship cruise missile were intercepted by CENTCOM forces over the Red Sea.

This happened barely hours after the Houthi militant group claimed responsibility for a ballistic missile attack on central Israel, which allegedly injured at least 20 people in Tel Aviv. The ongoing conflict threatens continued violence as it powerfully points to the humanitarian toll on Yemen.
