At the headquarters of the United Nations, the Permanent Mission of Uzbekistan to the United Nations just recently showcased an ambitious 2030 development strategy for AI technologies in Uzbekistan. This occasion was attended by many UN officials, diplomats, and experts and took place in conjunction with the support and collaboration of Interpol and the UN Counter-Terrorism Office.
Among the key elements of the AI Strategy as presented during the event were its highlighting key aspects so far related to a possible growth of the AI-based software products and services area up to US$ 1.5 billion by the target year of 2030. The strategy founded ten scientific laboratories of AI specializations and proposed improvements to policy regulatory frameworks that would develop conditions for technological progress.

An aspect of the conversation held was President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s commitment to innovating and developing information technologies. Further, the presentation reflects on the responsible adoption of AI emphasizing linguistic and cultural diversity, global partnerships, public sector skill enhancement, and transparency.
According to the Global Center on AI Governance, Uzbekistan is becoming the most responsible in Central Asia for adopting technologies of AI. Under the backdrop of regional technology and economics, these initiatives in the AI sector will provide significant contributions by Uzbekistan.
