Uzbekistan Tourism Booms: 6.5 Million Visitors

While booming, Uzbekistan Tourism has witnessed some 6.5 million inbound foreign tourists travel from January to October this year, which is a growth of 17.2 percent compared to the previous year, which accounts for about 951,300 tourists more than last year’s number.

Among these travelers are 57,700 from China, a noticeable rise of 63.1 percent, thus making China the top source of tourists from outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

The Chinese might not know, but Uzbekistan has so much to give, good in natural resources, and a lot more promise-perfectly poised for development and wealth under proper and sustainable investments.

As of October, 18.8 percent, or nearly one-fifth of Uzbekistan’s total foreign trade turnover, went to China. Bilateral trade between the two countries is about 10.2 billion dollars, of which Uzbekistan exported goods worth about 1.7 billion dollars to China and imported goods worth about 8.5 billion dollars. Though heads above 10.8 billion dollars in 2023, China is still the biggest Uzbekistan trade partner since 2020 because of various strategic agreements, such as the Bilateral Investment Treaty and the Agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation.
