On Thursday, an audience was granted to the ambassador of Palestine to Pakistan, Dr. Zuhair Mohammad Hamdallah Zaid, by President Asif Ali Zardari. The president assured the audience that Pakistan would continue to stand steadfastly with Palestine morally and diplomatically, expressing solidarity for the Palestinian people and highlighting the deep resonance of their struggle and pain within Pakistanis.

Pakistan has been advocating for a sovereign Palestinian state on a pre-1967 borders basis with East Jerusalem as a capital. This has been reiterated at all global platforms, including the United Nations, which condemned the Israeli actions in the occupied territories.
Islamabad’s friendship with Palestine comes from the standpoint of religious affinity and absolute justice according to international law. Beyond diplomacy, Pakistan opened its heart to offer humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians, especially during critical moments like when there was a fire in Gaza, reflecting the country’s unswerving devotion toward their cause.
